Not the same since Optima took over. The personal hygiene of people who live there with memory problems is extremely poor, unless you pay extra. People slumped over and sleeping in chairs in the entrance or bistro. We've raised some suggestions regarding, but no efforts were made to improve. What happened to the live music every Thursday? What happened to the music being played in the lobby? Where are the weekly country drives? Where is the happy staff that used to dance, talk, and have fun with the residence? My mom moved into the memory care unit in March this year and the staff have been so lovely with her. It gives me peace of mind that mom‘s getting good care.

Andrea has been wonderful. She makes you feel at ease with the tough decisions. She is extremely knowledgeable about the workings od Summerwood and makes herself available to answer questions. Perfect for her position!

Since the new management took over, I should say that Summerwood community has improved a lot - over all service, organization, professionalism and communication. The care team is very responsive to inquiry, professional and they work really hard to making a commitment in positive changes and most of all they advocate for the residents. Residents are more involved and staff are noticeably happy whenever I visit Summerwood.
