Review of Subtle Bug Car Care We have been taking our cars to Skip Copola at Subtle Bug since 1972. He has been able to figure out the reasons for malfunctions, order parts swiftly, and get our vehicles running smoothly time after time. His bills have been reasonable and often he has checked out problems without charge. He has made good referrals and tuaght us things about preventive maintenance. We highly recommend Skip as a caring and competent guy.
Best Car Shop Ever I have been getting my cars repaired here for over 20 years. I couldn't be happier with their work. Every job has been done professionally, timely and with quality parts. They are always upfront and honest before the job is done; letting you know how much it will cost with an estimate range. Work on late models The subtle bug on carpenter offers a variety of work on older cars at a resonable price.We recentley had a transmission rebuilt on our 1985 volkswagon.While no other shops around athens would touch it,the subtle bug was more than happy to help us out of our tranny problem.There prices are great and they work really fast to get you back on the road.
Avoid this shop They recommended many unnecessary repairs and told me those cost much more at other places. I only have a small problem with my car and end with pay a lot for unnecessary repairs. My advise is to avoid this shop if you don't know about car, especially for girls.
Excellent Work, Small Town Atmosphere I've been taking my cars to Subtle Bug for over 10 years and I've always been happy with their work. I've even bought two cars from them (they rebuild and sell Subarus), both of which have been fabulous performers. They are excellent mechanics, friendly and honest, hard working, decent people who will treat you right.
Subtle Bug Is a Nightmare They replaced an engine with the wrong one, which then broke down after two weeks. They also cut corners on putting the exhaust back in by covering the system with silicone. I found this out when I went to another mechanic who inspected their job. After they put the right engine in, I had it inspected again and the water pump was leaking and although I was charged for it, they never replaced it with a new one.
