My husband got me a very nice gift certificate from Studio D'Esthetique. I have been there many times - massage, manicure, to purchase beauty products, etc. The owner refused to honor my GC, or allow me to pay more into it in order to use it, or anything, 3 days after it expired. Three days. I am a commuting mom with a 4yo and a baby. I didn't even realize the GC expired at 6mos. Got a gift certificate for a massage, went to use it 11 months later and found it'd expired at SIX MONTHS. When I asked them to honor at least part of it, I was told NO. Then I was hung up on. What a terrible way to do business in a time when everyone wants to "shop local".
First went in the get a haircut when I had messed it up myself, and the lady (Raven) was really rude about the fact that I cut it myself. A couple months later I made an appointment, which was a struggle, because no one ever picked up or called me back. But once I went in, I wasn't even on the books, and the lady (Raven) who was supposed to cut my hair said she had to leave and couldn't do it. I went right across the street to Bella Hair, who are amazing, in every way.
I was a first time client last week and I can honestly say I will not be returning. My massage therapist talked throughout the entire service so it was impossible to relax. The manicurist had three clients at once so I was rushed and my manicure started peeling before the end of the day. I am all for supporting local business which is why I chose this spa. I am sad to say I would not recommend their services.
