I brought my grandmother’s mid-century modern hutch to be lacquered at Steins. It was 50 years old and in perfect condition. When they were through with it, the doors no longer hung straight and even. The owner came to my home to see it and started banging on the doors with a rubber mallet. In doing so, he chipped the paint. He told me that they would send me a repair kit and that I would have to repair the chipped paint myself. I never received the kit.
