Dee who I called the comptrollers office to speak to is an angel and lifesaver. Her and her supervisor just gave me a 2nd chance and I’m so grateful and thankful. I have been calling for 2 weeks straight and no one picked up until her. I was just recently incarcerated and lost everything. Still not answering the phone. You just get the same automated message without any ringing. They took money to pay a debt that does not exist and now I have to go in person to speak to someone.
DESERVES NO STARS!!!!!!!!! I’ve been calling for two days straight. The first day I was on hold for 2 hours, and today for 1 hour. I called right at 8:30 AM both days and still got the “high call volumes” message as soon as they opened. On top of it i called every number on the paper they sent me. They either need more staff to answer calls or a better online portal. It requires creating an account and waiting for an email before you can do anything. This agency is ridiculous. How are we in 2026 an this is the only representation they have. The phone service is horrible. You have no real way to verify your balance if one is owed. If this is a branch for IRS of Maryland, there is limited ways to conduct business, this needs to be addressed ASAP. Tax paying citizens shouldn’t t have to deal with this much of a set back.
