This place has the worst technology and support! I shut off auto-pay two months ago because I moved my loan to another CU. They still withdrew my payment and said it was because the support person shut off auto-pay in the wrong place. They assured me it was fixed and it would not happen again. I received my loan payoff confirmation and yet today the debited my checking account AGAIN... I don't even have a loan with them! This is illegal.. My husband has banked with SDFCU since 1980. There was fraudulent activity on his account beginning in July. He finally found it: it was done using his checking account and routing number. But their fraud department NEVER caught it. At this writing he has TWICE been asked to provide evidence of this (as if he had a different source of information?!) and after two weeks not one penny of his money has been refunded. After applying online for a checking account, my spouse was denied an account because SDFCU said his identity could not be verified, though several other banks and credit card companies have had no issue doing so. I was given inaccurate information on various occasions surrounding this issue and at no time did they make an effort to address the matter with me in a way that reflected a serious commitment to customer service or opening accounts with worthy customers. This credit union is the most incompetent financial institution I've ever had the displeasure of working with. That's saying a lot since I also bank with Wells Fargo. They are actually worse than Wells Fargo. Don't bank with State Department FCU. Their service is ridiculously slow and when they receive a wire they take days to credit it to your Home Equity Line of Credit so they can earn more interest. The worst Credit Union in America.
