A Family Business for over 63 years! In 1946, our patriarch, Laurence Eugene Piretra began to mold Star Ravioli Manufacturing Company into the business it is today. From a small storefront on Summit Avenue in Union City, NJ, he began making and selling delicious cheese and meat ravioli, stuffed shells, manicotti, and cappelletti ( tortellini ). I lived on 11 th street between Summit and Central and would walk a few blocks to the Star Ravioli store. I loved there meat ravioli. They were packed with corn meal or semolina , not sure which. Either way I loved them.
Soo sad they went out of business
