So I politely point out the fact that even if I showed up at 11 AM there was no way I was going to finish moving in by 12 so whoever scheduled this time-slot wasn’t thinking. Why would you schedule a time slot from 9 to 12 PM. But even further, why would that even be an option? For someone to show up at 9 AM with a truck means they would have had to start packing their truck at probably like 6 AM. That’s not realistic. She then tells me she will See what she can do and call Me back. She never called me back. :woman-facepalming::skin-tone-4: I go to check on my movers around 3 PM and the maintenance man continues to let them move in (while still supervising them) because these people who supposedly booked a 3 to 6 PM time slot never actually showed up. This experience was beyond stressful for no reason simply because this property wanted to be unhelpful. Moving is already stressful! This is not a great way to start my experience here. And I know for a fact that if I were a white woman, I would not have been treated this way. Oh, but I have more to tell you. I am not done. This property charges you $100 a month for internet and cable. This property is located in West Midtown Atlanta where the vast majority of their target market is millennials. If you do any type of research on your target market you would know that millennials do not have cable- we use Internet and streaming services. But guess what? you cannot change the package even when you call the third-party service provider who supplies the Internet and cable. Their name is hotwire by the way. Have you ever heard of an internet and cable Company called Hotwire? I didn’t think so, me neither. They tell me that i cannot change the package that was included which is the slowest Internet they offer and if you want to upgrade to a faster Internet it’s an additional $70 a month. So now I have to pay $170 a month for cable that I don’t need and just to get a fast speed Internet otherwise it’s $100 a month for the slowest Internet that they offer where everyone in this building is on that same network. :woman-facepalming::skin-tone-4: Google fiber is only $70 a month so now I would have to pay more than double that for services that I don’t even need. OK and there’s more. This property does not accept any packages from Amazon FedEx or UPS. They charge you $20 a month to use an app called fetch. With fetch you are given a separate address that you have to send all your packages to offsite. Then you have to use the app to schedule them to deliver it to your actual unit. Sounds dope right? Well it’s not. It’s been a nightmare. I ordered furniture and I’ve been here for three days and I have not received not any of my packages. Because the fetch app is unreliable. You schedule a day and a delivery window. Every day I scheduled a delivery, the fetch employees never show up during my scheduled window or they text me and say they’re pushing my time slot back to the next timeslot because they are busy. I have stayed home during my time slot and they have not arrived. And then when they do I am not home. They do not call you, they just knock on the door. At least if you call I can try to come back home. What is the point of scheduling it when you never show up on time? I have yet to receive any of my packages. I would even be okay if they let fetch into my unit to drop them off. We all know one of the perks of Amazon prime is getting your orders within two days. What if there’s a situation where I need something? You can pretty much just forget about getting your packages in time because they are extremely unreliable. Star Metals forces you to pay $20 a month for a shitty service that doesn’t even work. And guess what, fetch does not have a phone number. you have to text them for customer service and they take at least 3 to 5 hours to respond if they respond at all. This has been the worst experience of my life.

I have only been living here for 3 days and I’m already seriously contemplating breaking my lease. The apartment itself and the property is beautiful. However the management company and the way that they do things is absolutely terrible while a lot of their logic just flat out doesn’t make any sense. And I am not exaggerating. This is going to be a really long review so I am just giving you a heads up now. I am a Virgo, I will leave no details out. For starters the day that I was supposed to move in, I estimated that I would get there around 11 AM. Now If you have ever moved, we all know that things happen and more than often, a move never goes as scheduled. This community apparently requires move in timeslots. So when I told them I would get there around 11 AM with my movers, the leasing agent (who no longer even works for the company) decided to schedule my Move in window from 9 AM to 12 PM. I am moving into one the largest two bedroom two bath unit that they offer. I am paying over $3500 a month for rent. As a leasing agent you should know that moving into a unit of that size would take longer than an hour. Or you would think. I hired professional movers and unfortunately, getting to star metals took longer than anticipated. I did not get to Star Metals until around 1230pm. I’m late, I get it. Wasn’t even looking at the time. No one informed me that your move-in window is not flexible. When I arrived at the property, I called the leasing office at least seven times before someone finally answered the phone. They rave about this 24/7 concierge that we get, however the concierge doesn’t even have a direct number. You still have to call the main line that everyone else calls to get to them. This is not an upscale experience. I get to the property and they tell me because it’s after 12 they’re not going to allow me to move in. That I missed the window and that there’s nothing they can do. That someone is currently moving in (12-3pm time slot) and it’s against policy to let us share the freight elevator or the dock space and that the next time slot (3-6pm) is also already taken as well and that I have to reschedule my move in. Yes you heard correctly. They told me I had to reschedule my move in for another day. I asked for a 6-9pm time slot and was told you have to move in by 6pm. Are you kidding me???? I literally had a whole truck and movers that I pay per hour and Star Metals was not even going to let me move in! I live here. I literally cried in my car for 30 mins because this whole situation triggered my anxiety and I almost had a mental breakdown. So then The leasing office sends the concierge out to talk to me, (they didn’t even have enough decency to talk to me themselves). She tells me that there’s nothing that they can do and that if the person who currently is moving in is finished with the dock earlier than expected then I can move in. The universe grants me favor and the person before me finishes at 2 PM. So now the concierge tells me that I can move him from 2 to 3 PM but once the other people show up at 3 PM, I have to stop moving in. I say OK cool whatever. I asked for the elevator key and she tells me that because I’m not moving in during my scheduled time that they cannot provide me with the elevator key. Again are you kidding me? You’re telling me I have to move-in in one hour and you won’t even give me the elevator key which is going to slow us down. So then star metals sends a maintenance manager to manually hold the elevator and police my movers while also harassing them about being done at 3pm. So now I am really upset. I decide to call corporate because this is absolutely ridiculous and I can’t even believe that this is happening. I call around and finally reach someone who tells me that they will have the regional manager contact me. She finally calls me back around 2:30 PM and she basically tells me that I missed the window and that what the leasing office told me was correct.
