Stacks is dishonest DON'T DO IT. Do not buy, and do not consign. They steal and they switch coins. They promise and never deliver. They lie and if you're not a zillionare, they treat you very bad. They are rude and dishonest. No better than common thieves. They acquired success by stealing from people. They should be ashamed of themselves!
Coins Whether you're dealing with a Stack's auction or buying retail in there 57th Street store these guys are top notch coin dealers. Sooner or later they handle almost every important coin and the shop breathes fine coins. They can be a bit stuffy if they feel you are a browser which keeps them from a 5 star rating. Still it's worth a visit if you find coins mildly interesting and a MUST if you've ever collected coins. PROS: Marvelous coins to look at CONS: a bit stuffy
Great Coin dealers Stack's is world famous for the coins that they handle either through auction or private sale. The staff can be a little snooty at times but the gold coins on display in the window alone make the visit worthwhile. If you have any interest in coins you must visit here.
Not worth it Staff are obnoxious if they "feel" your not about to purchase $100,000 worth of coins. They slammed items and yelled at customers who were not so well dressed and even younger clientele. They are overpriced, current spot for silver: 17 and a 1 oz bullion was $29. A error, off center struck penny were selling for $35 (actual value: $15).
