I won an online auction, and when I went to pick it up, they couldn’t find the item. It was likely that someone stole it, as there was no inventory control at the pick-up site. You were told which room to pick up your items, but no one double-checked that people had what they were supposed to have. I drove 1 1/2 hours round trip to pick up an item they didn’t have. Now I’m out my time and my gas money. This auction/pick-up was very unprofessionally run. I won’t do business with them again.

St Louis Estate Sales, with Val at the helm, run very complete and tidy auctions in a timely manner. Sellers must realize that some antiques, collectibles, and furniture simply do not hold their value. An auction is still the best way to guarantee a liquidation of an estate.
We had a wham, bam, slam auction filled with dealers who literally walked away paying far less than pennies on the dollar. We were ripped off, and not at all well represented by Val, who was highly recommended to us by Coldwell Banker. What we were told is NOT what happened. The only people who profited from my parents estate were the dealers and the auction company. Very disgusted and would NEVER recommend.
