After viewing this place for a relative we thought it was stuck in the past. Reminded me of a 1970’s hospital / prison. Rooms looked pretty poor considering it’s an impressive building. It needs a lot of investment. For what is being charged for self funding you certainly are not short of funds. Felt unappealing and depressing with long sparse corridors with poor decoration. Not good enough.
My mum has been in St John's for a few months now and I have just been to visit her for her birthday. I can honestly say I have never seem my mum happier than she is now, it's always a worry putting a loved one into a care home but she has the best care I could ever have wished for, all her needs are met with care and respect and the staff are brilliant with all the residents and their visitors. My mum has been living here for a few months now and it's been the best decision we could have made. The staff are absolutely amazing and genuinely care for the residents. The level of care is exceptional and my mum is very happy there. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for honest genuine care for their loved ones.
