About this business
In the 80s Dennis Jarvis designed the first Spyder Surfboard in Hermosa Beach for his own use on a professional world surfing tour. He took his passion for surfboards and started his own company that now produces one of the premier lines of surfboards and equipment. In addition to the existing line you are welcome request a custom board to meet your needs. Spyderboards also sells all the relevant surf gear. Check out their second location, also at 65 Pier Avenue, called Spyder II.

Good ding repair, fair pricing, nice staff. However would be hesitant to bring a board here again for repair as it came back with some mysterious scratches. Not sure if it’s on the store’s end or the ding repair guy’s, but it was disappointing as it was an almost new board.
First time in the store and it was a great experience. I met the owner Dennis and his son, and a lady named Tamara. They all were so nice and I felt super welcome. It's a beautiful pristine store, but has a down to earth family vibe. The prices are very reasonable too. I bought a 6'2 Spyder Hard Drive surfboard. Dennis explained it's features and helped me pick it out. Great local surf shop.
Spyder is awesome. The people that work there are super helpful and incredibly nice. I've been shopping and renting snowboards from Spyder for the last five or six years and it is always a delightful experience. The picture below is my favorite board that they have for renting. It beats having to store the board(s) in my garage.
