Paid my city taxes over a month ago, got a letter DEMANDING payment and I was confused. Called and they told me its for 2023 taxes, and I said I'm not paying that its May of 2022, and they were saying it's a "guesstimate" of my 2023 taxes and I needed to pay that. Then after I laughed and told them thats not happening I will never pay taxes a year in advance and in the end they then told me "Well 90% of your taxes are due 1/15/23 and after is a penalty, so we try to budget people".
