I am very happy with the friendly, prompt care and staff. The staff always makes me feel well cared for and loved with their kind and personable interactions. They are also very helpful when I have any questions. I am very thankful for Smithville Western Care Center for helping me and going above and beyond!
This place needs some major improvements-starting with the administrator-he does not follow through with anything as promised and has been dismissive of our concerns about lack of activities. Building is very outdated. However the care staff has been great! kitchen staff and housekeeping are very friendly and helpful as well.
The biggest problem at this facility is the administrator Robert Childs. I have never encountered a "professional" with such poor communications skills and lack of interest in patient family concerns. His cavalier and pompous attitude is not a good look !
I have been here for over two years. The staff is compassionate and the food is great. They are always willing to listen and lend a helping hand. I enjoy being here and would recommend to others!
If I could give this place a zero, I absolutely would — and I hope it gets shut down. A formal state complaint will be filed, not that it’ll surprise anyone since the state inspector has been there multiple times in one week. And honestly, they should. My father came here for rehab after major neck surgery — not to be ignored and left to rot in a wheelchair for hours on his first day.
