I have really liked shopping in this store since the day it opened. I even got the credit card, the points add up fast. Today I visited the store before noon, so I could check out a hand gun before it got too busy. I was the only customer at the gun counter and there was one associate working the counter. I asked to see a Sig P226 Scorpion, which the associate took out of the cabinet for me. When I asked him to remove the trigger lock, I was told no, it was against store policy to dry fire the weapon. Gun counter is terrible, long, and misinformed. Wait is an hour to 2 hours and the employees do not want to work there. They are misinformed on sales and deals. Go to turners, west coast, or brass n bass for better service. Sportsman's is now a place to avoid in our family
The manager went out of his way today to clear up a confusion I had with customer service over the phone. He explained things and helped me out. Highly recommend this location for hunting, fishing and whatever other outdoor gear you need. They stand behind their products and have great customer service.
I've been here a few times for ammo and archery. Not sure why they carry lead ammo, when it’s outlawed in California. Everything should be lead free. The only guy that knows anything is some guy named Allen Lott. He deserves a pay raise, definitely not getting paid what he’s worth. He has extensive knowledge on guns and ammo, rumor is… he was a retired scout sniper and SWAT guy. Still waited for about 20 minutes in the ammo line, but that’s because of the unfriendly California laws.
Honestly the worst sportsman’s in So-cal. I’m not even sure they want to sell anything here. Rude gun counter employees and even longer wait times.
