If six stars was an option, then Sports Marine in Newport News would get it. My wife and I were on a 500-mile boat passage, and our outboard engine died. Not being able to go ashore, we urgently needed a solution, and had the great fortune to meet Rob Miner at Sports Marine. He immediately swung into action by finding us a new outboard, arranging an overnight stay for us at a local dock, personally bringing the engine to our boat, making sure that it started up, and sending us happily on our way... on his Sunday off! Brandon from the service department does a great job of keeping you informed on the status of your boat/trailer and recommended services. The mechanics are very knowledgeable about a vast array of boats and motors. This is my second year working with them and the work is great and they get you in and out in a quick and efficient manner.
Brandon took care of everything and addressed my concerns. They even fixed my anchor light that came loose from its holder free of charge. Did my 100 hour service and winterization. Great communication on every step of the way. Highly recommend them.
Sports Marine staff were friendly and courteous, and the shop staff was very knowledgeable. Boat was delivered on time and under budget. Would definitely refer friends and family to Sports Marine.
I took my boat back because the engine was having issues already. They took it out and saw it needed a different propeller so they switched it.
