I'm a little slow in posting my review. Our experience with this store was phenomenal! Every time we go in we are greeted with happy smiles and willing help in finding what we are looking for. The staff is very knowledgeable on pretty much every kind of liquor and bar items. One in particular was Chris, I inquired about a scotch and he gladly showed me the selection. I went to Spec's looking for a very smooth Bourbon. The young man who helped me was very knowledgeable on the Bourbon selections. He also, directed me to a slightly less expensive choice than what I was looking at. I will continue returning for all of my alcohol needs.
Walked into store this AM. Two employees in office area talking and laughing. No other customer in store but me. Not one time was I greeted like should be. Haley waited on me when I was ready to check out. Not a very friendly or clean looking business.
The store is nice and pretty well stocked but beware of their prices. The Berringer wine I buy was $7+ until last month when it went to $10 a bottle. Then we checked Scotch and Bourbon and got the same results. After 3 years of buying there, their prices are well over Krogers, Fiesta, and HEB. Spec's Mgr. Susan will match prices but beware of gr.Will Green. He will finagle(?) the register and I found him to be very coniving(?) and unfair if not dishonest. Conveniently located across the street from a Bank of America they have a very wide variety of liquor and wine. Lets party! (go to the bank first!)
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The store is always well stocked and organized. I stop in often to surprise my husband. Don't pass it up if you love good service and friendly people.
Awlful service. Rude attendent on 11/30/13 demanded that my son not touch a bottle that we were looking at. I asked why and he said" he is not 21". Totally unprofessional. My son is 22 years old acturally. When I went to pay for it, he started carrying on a detailed conversation with some of his buddys that just came into to door totally ignoring myself and my son. Not even a thank you. Let me tell you moron the proper way to do business. If you think someone is not 21 you don't say "Your not 21" you ask politely for his ID.... read more
My complaint about Spec's Liquor Store is simple: They sell beer and wine, NOT liquor! I saw the listing Spec's Liquor Store and drove a number of miles out of my way to buy spirits, but they don't sell liquor, apparently because of restrictions placed on businesses by the City of Plano. I expect Spec's would love to sell liquor at this location, and it's not their fault that they can't. But they should change their listing on YP to Spec's Beer and Wine Store. I've never been to another Spec's, so I don't know about them. However, this location is very nice, always very clean, and well kept, and the people working there are always helpful, and friendly. I used to shop at just any liquor store, but not since I discovered Specs. After the first time I went into this store several months ago, I haven't shopped anywhere else for liquor, beer, or wine.
