    The Department of Energy released a report comparing the total energy consumed over the lifetime of LED, CFL, and Incandescent lighting technology. This report is the first of a series aimed at assessing the environmental and resource costs in the manufacturing, transport, use, and disposal of LED lighting products in relation to comparable traditional lighting technologies.

    Mexico's ministry of energy has proposed new, stricter standards for LED lamps. The proposal includes minimum efficiency levels for different types of LED lamps, as well as standards for testing, sampling, and conformity assessment.
