I had an extremely negative experience with IRA STC and would not recommend them. The onboarding process was smooth and polished, but once funds were transferred, the experience changed dramatically. I encountered multiple undisclosed or poorly explained fees, inconsistent information from representatives, and repeated upsell attempts. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR KEEP YOUR MONEY FAR AWAY FROM IRA STC. Happy to onboard me and take my money. Front end reps were all polished, informed, efficient, and expedited the onboarding process. But once you're in the door it's hurdle after hurdle, and fee after fee, after fee, after fee, after fee.... Their "Specialized Black" (up-charge offer) was supposedly to avoid fees, but that turns out that's only on asset transactions, there are still fees on wires and distributions. When my portfolio was seized by the SEC due to a vendor’s Ponzi scheme, Specialized Trust relentlessly hounded me for months to pay my annual fee—despite knowing I had no money left. Zero empathy, just aggressive demands. Predatory and unethical. Avoid at all costs.
