We took a group of Veterans to the Bay Model & Spaulding Marine Center in honor of Veterans Day. We had a tour led by Tim. It was brilliant and enjoyable and deeply enriched our morning. Learning about the history, the founder, the education program was so enlightening. Seeing the many boats in all stages of building was really fascinating. Being able to tour a working facility like this and get such a lovely tour was deeply appreciated by all!
I recently had my boat serviced at Spaulding, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I was facing issues with the cutlass bearing, and the team here went above and beyond to diagnose the problem. They discovered several root causes that had been overlooked by the previous yard's shoddy work. What stood out to me the most was their excellent communication. Recently had a thru-hull instrument installed on my J/35 and the Spaulding team did a great job. In addition to their practice in traditional wooden boat building and repair, they do great work on modern / fiberglass boats. Would highly recommend them!
