I learned that Space Coast Credit Union does not reciprocate use of their ATM machines with other credit unions. Though their ATM clearly shows several reciprocal icons on the face of it, which my credit union card also has, it still charged me a $4 fee for a withdrawal from another/my own credit union back home, which means it runs like a bank. It does not play well in the sandbox with others, which is unfortunate.
I wanted to share my recent experience with Space Coast Credit Union, as it left me feeling mortified and frustrated. I had been a loyal customer with both checking and savings accounts for years. After selling my Florida house, the money from the title company was wired to my checking account, and I moved back to my hometown in Pennsylvania.
