My husband and I came to the JW Marriott to celebrate a baby moon. I made reservations for the spa for each of us to receive a massage while we were there for the weekend. This was our very first time at a JW Marriott and my first massage while pregnant at 9 months pregnant. I came to stay at the JW Marriott at Marco island for three days and went to use the Day spa. I was turned down and had to go to the front desk for clarification on membership status. It was such an exhausting experience just to use the day spa. On the second day at 9:30 am I tried to enjoy the day spa again however they turned me down because they were booked with massages and I couldn’t use the Day spa, which was very disappointing, because I was just looking to use the day spa and not hands on service. For our anniversary we did a couples massage and it was fantastic!! The staff was very polite and attentive. I will definitely add this location to visit again.
I was very underwhelmed by the overall spa experience. The front desk staff was polite but not particularly warm or welcoming — nothing about the interaction made me feel special. The women’s locker room felt far from what you’d expect at an upscale spa; it lacked a sense of luxury or relaxation and is definitely in need of updates. The waiting area was small and cramped, making it difficult to unwind before treatments.
