Everyone at Southwick Village has been exceptional in their care, concern and willingness to go over and above for my mom. This was a very hard decision on my part and after ONE hour at SV I knew I had made the right one. The facility is immaculate, the food is amazing (my mom does not eat meat on Friday...NO PROBLEM! the chef made her baked cod, mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, I was blown away)served in a dining room. This is a lovely place to live if you want to live in an independent cottage, with really nice people--everyone is friendly and the employees are very helpful. As a rental community, of which there aren't any others that I've found in Massachusetts, it's the perfect solution for those who don't want to pay into a senior community and be forced to pay monthly for a food plan you don't want. We moved here 3 years ago after my husband was diagnosed with dementia. I feel very confident in letting my husband walk around the area and go up to the Dublin House because I know that residents and staff all know him and help him out if needed. We live in a wonderful cottage that gets rave reviews by friends and family that have visited. The resident community helps to keep us socially active and we truly enjoy being here.
I was able to get in on a good deal one bedroom cottage October 1, 2023. My rent went up $144 October 1, 2024. But now I’m being forced out because at the end of October 2025, My rent will go up $550 which is a 40% increase totally outrageous. Invited and then Forced out because I can’t afford such a precarious increase!
