My mom was transferred to this facility after having a major surgery, and we had to change her to a different place since the nurses are very negligent. It reeks of body waste and is very unhygienic. The personnel would take hours to give her medication, often forget to change her clothes, ignore her requests to shower, etc. My mom developed blood clots and rashes, she ended up getting sent to the ER after being there for 3 days and I wouldn’t doubt it’s because of the facility’s lack of care. My dad was at South Bay Post Acute Care from aug. 31st 2024 to Oct 18th 2024. He had an aneurysm and it the left side of his body paralyzed and I chose this place for the rehab portion as the first steps to his recovery. He went to them as a fully dependent man meaning he needed help from them to do everything and the way my father was treated was appalling and sad. I went into the facility with super high hopes, trying to believe that the bad reviews were just from cranky people. But honestly, as soon as I got there, it smelled like a sewer. They won’t even let patients buy their own wipes—just make you use these harsh towels instead. The social workers expect you to do their job for them, even though they’re supposed to help you with all the tough stuff. And then there’s Karla, the so-called social worker, who’s just plain rude. So they asked me to write a review here is my most sincere honest review social workers don’t do anything they don’t help. They expect you to call all the numbers when they’re the ones that should be calling.
