Today, my family had one of those mornings where everything was just crazy! I’m talking late starts, missing backpacks, a big mess at breakfast, and a couple of stressed-out kids, not to mention stressed-out parents. There was an afternoon when my daughter wasn’t feeling well after school had let out for the day and our Sommer driver was the first to notice something was off. Before resuming the route, he took a moment to check in with her properly rather than just continuing as usual—just to make sure it wasn’t an emergency. Long story short, it turned out to be nothing serious, but I really appreciated that he treated it with care instead of just ignoring it. It shows he really cares about the kids. My son has sensory sensitivities, especially with noise and changes in routine, so outside transportation (by which I mean him riding with anyone who isn’t us) has always been a concern for us. "There was a day recently when traffic was unusually heavy and my son’s shuttle was caught up in the gridlock. When it got to be 10 mins past his normal drop-off time with no sign of him, I started to get concerned (you can usually set your watch by the pickup and drop-off times!), but that’s when I got a notification about the situation from the company’s head office. I appreciated getting that quick heads-up so I wasn’t left wondering. It’s small gestures like that one that make me appreciate Sommer Transportation.

We’ve been lucky enough to have a great driver for almost 2 years now, one my kid feels really comfortable with. I’ve spoken with her personally on many occasions, and she’s just a really down-to-earth person who genuinely cares about the children she shuttles each day. I hope she keeps the same route at least until my kid finishes school.
