About this business

For the past 40 years, individuals with no money or no insurance have been denied help in America. In 1994, our Founder, Jim deVarennes, had seen enough. Leaving a successful insurance career, he founded Peachford House to provide residential recovery to people suffering from addiction, regardless of their ability to pay. The first location was a 5-bed facility in Atlanta, which quickly grew to 60 beds becoming one of the largest facilities in Georgia. Peachford's leadership team quickly realized that many recovering addicts... read more

It’s cool if you need a place to stay, and have no other options. The price is ridiculous, $900 a month to share a 3 bedroom apartment with 5 other adults. “Management” or “staff” is picked right out of the lineup of clients which is bizarre, Indianapolis sure could use some decent help at running its southside “campus”. The “director” speaks to people however she pleases, and the rules don’t apply to her. Overall they care about that rent money more than they do anything else at the end of the day. Much better options elsew... read more

I came to Sober Living America- Savannah Ga-straight out of prison. After many years of drug addiction I had burned all my bridges and my future was uncertain, I know I needed help so I turned to Sober Living America and I was sent to the Savannah Ga campus and it has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Since arriving I have been shown the road to recovery, obtained a great job, started rekindling relationships with my family and have learned how to be a sober responsible adult handling my responsibilities ... read more

I can only speak to the centers in Atlanta and they are an absolute disaster. Do you have directors that are not even sober themselves. Rampant drug and alcohol abuse in the apartments making it very difficult for people who want to get sober trying to get sober. You have employees having sexual relations with clients. And you have financial fraud on the part of the directors and slave like employment practices. People listed as part time employees and getting paid for 10 hours but required to work 70 hour weeks and explicit... read more

Helped me get a handle on my addiction issues and look at what I was ACTUALLY trying to avoid or mask by using. However, this place sets it's "staff" or "volunteers" up for failure. Not saying they are causing people to relapse, because that's each individual persons choice ultimately... however, asking someone to be a "director" or "guest services" or even a "driver", when they most likely have less than 2,3 months tops of clean time is way too much pressure and way too much to put on their shoulders while they are pulled i... read more
