They’ve always been very helpful. You just have to hit the right person. That’s been there a long time and knows every little facet -you don’t want someone new. You can always ask for a supervisor if you feel your needs aren’t being met.
They are great and even though i ramble at times they are considerate, fair and always answer my questions and reqursts. Even if i am not eligible i am always given the tine to explain mysrlf and they have always been kind enough to give my the time to again ramble. I understand they must dollow the laws of the town amd state and i am sure they do follow them and they are also compassionate in an economy wheras i was unable to work due to covid for a year and ultimayely had a heart condition which required surgery. Wonderful women working there. Everyone was kind, polite and very helpful every time I went or called there. I have dealt with them many times.
The one lady who works behind the desk acts as if you are bothering her anytime you go in there and ask a question or call. Also, be careful because they “lost” my first tax grievance paperwork. It’s extremely frustrating dealing with the Town of Smithtown.
