Maura is an angel. I went to Sliding Scale Acupuncture when I was going through kratom withdrawals and actually having a physical / mental breakdown. Maura made space for me to be messy emotionally, which is really hard for me in general. I was asked many guided questions about what was going on for me and why I was seeking treatment. Such a gem! Maura is always very generous with sharing knowledge and very curious about my experience of my body, so is a great acupuncturist if you are someone who likes to talk about body things and ask lots of questions. Also she did some gua sha recently, which was amazing in providing immediate relief for some tight body parts. I use my body pretty hard, so it definitely feels quite special to receive such healing care.
I had always been intimidated by acupuncture until Maura began offering her services. She creates a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and is great about checking in along the way. After a couple visits, I’ve left feeling 100% more relaxed and like I have tools to face any concerns.
I cannot say enough good things about Sliding Scale Acupuncture! The space is very peaceful and relaxing. Maura is so attentive and really takes the time to ask all the right questions to provide the best treatment and help you get to the bottom of whatever is ailing you.
