I'm a ski coach and am well-versed in skis, bindings, boots, etc. I'm a young woman, and every time I come in here I'm treated with condescension and feel as though I'm fighting for them to respect my opinions and decisions about my gear. It has made it so difficult to get answers to my real questions when they are questioning my level and my knowledge at every turn, from boot fittings to asking about demo-ing skis. My original board broke so I went looking for a new snowboard. This was the first place I went to and I’m glad it was. I had no idea what I was looking for, and Justin was my godsend. He narrowed down what I wanted, explained why the board would be good and the lore of the board, and got me a great deal on it. He put my bindings on for and made sure I loved it before we checked out. Definitely will be going back for the experience if I need anything else.
For ski rentals, friendly, expert service, and they listen carefully to how customers ski and what they want to do. Then they offer to drive you up to the lift! Halfway through the day, they picked us up and brought us back to the shop to swap and demo other skis. I won’t go anywhere else in Steamboat after this.
