I thought Skagit was a trustworthy local bank, better than the big national banks, but I was wrong. My partner had a bill come in when we were overseas and her account over drafted. We didn’t know this, as Skagit doesn’t have a practice of calling or notifying about overdrafts. When she checked her balance at an ATM after we arrived back in the USA, it said her account balance was ($233). We assumed that meant she had money in her account, so she spent it on some bills. I swear skagit state bank is the worst bank I have ever worked with, more concentrated on finding a way to penalize and give you a fee then they are taking care of their customers and community. Been banking with them for 8 YEARS. A large credit card payment of mine took weeks to hit zeroed out my account for 20 minutes before other money I transferred in could hit. In that 20 minutes skagit state bank charged me 3X Fees to a total of $115, closed my account, and shut down my debit card without even giving me a phone call. A... read more

Slow and very rude service. If every branch has as terrible customer service as the Burlington branch I would change banks. I won’t be returning to the Burlington branch.
