I am giving SIXT a very poor rating, or even 0 because of the unacceptable, stressful, and poorly handled check-in process I experienced at the counter, which resulted in me wasting 3 hours of my valuable time and nearly ruining my entire trip. Be aware - this car rental company is a scam. I booked a car two weeks in advance for my trip to California, with airport pickup confirmed. When I arrived, they did not have a car available for me. What made the situation even worse was that they refused to provide any invoice or proper documentation, despite charging me in full for the entire two-week rental. AVOID!!! We rented a BMW X5. We returned the car in the same condition as we rented it (see our drop off video). Upon return, the SIXT employee that checked the car in told us the car "looked great". 5 days after returning the car we received an email that there was damage found. Luckily, we have a clear video showing the condition at the time we turned the car in, but now we have to dispute this with SIXT (see video submitted). They exchanged my rental. Picked up from my hotel. They drove the car bavk. Then claimed I damaged the car. Never rent from them. Very dishonest people.
I’d rate it a zero if possible. My family and I flew into Orlando and rented one of their cars to drive to Univ Fla Gainesville to see my daughter graduate. We ordered the Sixt rental before we left. We were only there Fri-Sun morning. Gave us a similar suv because original one was rented to someone else. So on Fla Tpk about one hour into our drive the engine lite and emergency/ overheat lights came on. It said “Reduced Acceleration drive with care”.
