There was no staff at the desk when I arrived at my scheduled pickup time. After standing at an empty desk for 7 minutes, the hotel concierge who saw me waiting knocked on a nearby door, the Sixt rental agent emerged, and then placed a notice on the desk saying to call a phone number. When I commented "That would have been helpful to know 7 minutes ago," she gave me a snarky "Well, I'm sorry you had to wait 7 minutes." I don't need the attitude. Stay away from NextCar Car Rental. They hit you with a “loss of use” fee that most insurance companies don’t even cover—something that should be made clear upfront, but isn’t. It feels misleading at best. On top of that, their system is outdated and inefficient. The check-in process was a mess, and you could see the frustration from just about every customer there. Overall, a really disappointing experience. I won’t be renting from them again—and I’d definitely recommend others think twice before booking.
