I was trying to reserve a car for rental, and 40 minutes before the rental they canceled my reservation. I thiught to myself ok i will take some other car - i drove there and they say they have no cars at all - while showing some of them on the site. I was asking - why are you showing cars if you dont have them? The answer was sorry we are keep saying SIXT about this issue. Stay away
Outstanding service at this branch. Although my originally reserved vehicle was not available upon arrival, the gentleman handling my rental managed the situation with absolute professionalism. He transparently offered a paid upgrade, which I declined, and immediately provided an excellent, fully equivalent alternative within my booked category without any friction or pushy sales tactics. The entire handover was efficient, clear, and genuinely customer-oriented. A thoroughly positive experience.
Arrived at SFO Sixt and attempted to check in using the app. Kept asking if I wanted to upgrade to a substantially inferior car I said no and tried to proceed. The app kept getting to a pop up saying there’s been an error please proceed to customer service for assistance. They then explained they oversold and no longer had our prepaid reserved car (BMW X3) and wanted us to choose something different none of which were great options we wanted.
