I never went to treatment, just to AA. I got a lot of help and acceptance at AA in Sioux City. I don't know what I would have done without the program and the people

Don’t get too excited about service work with the Sioux City AA groups, they accuse you of wanting personal glory. The entire Sioux City AA system is a popularity contest and a certain guy, we’ll call him “James” throws his weight around saying “he has pull in AA” - this happens in MANY groups, MANY times. If you’re looking for genuine recovery, avoid this cult of personality and pick another city Edit: since I’m being accused of being resentful let me just add: it’s not AA, it is the toxic environment of Sioux City AA.
