Jan was lovely to work with, always responsive and engaged in the creative process. However, he misrepresented himself as being able to build a custom built-in bookshelf, which ended up being a mess. We are going to have to have it ripped out and built from scratch if we want a real built-in. If you decide to hire Jan for custom work, I recommend that you only agree to a pay schedule that allows you to provide the final payment AFTER the job is completed and you have checked all the details for finish and safety.
