This historic forge house turned into a boutique store is tucked away on the far edge of Providence's Fox Point neighborhood, pegged up against the Seekonk River. The owners carefully curate all of the unique items such as scarves, jewelry, home decor, and general bric-a-brac. Some of the designers like Orla Kiely, Emma Bridgewater and Catherine André may not necessarily be household names, but the quality of their items is unparalleled.

Shop attendant was a large white haired lady with glasses. I said to her "How are you?" She replied with a cold 🥶 "good." No inquiry as to how I, the customer, was doing. Rude! Seems to be a consistent theme with reviews of this store. Too bad really. I've lived in the PVD area for almost a decade and always wanted to visit this shop. Incredibly disappointing. I passed on the beautiful lavender baroque pearl earrings I fell in love with. You behave like a loser, you lose sales! Not worth the visit, your time or money. Sell ... read more
Just moved to Rhode Island from New Hampshire so I was looking for new places to shop and visit. I walk in, I was not greeted and then when I finally was greeted I asked the older woman “How’re you” with no response from her and a cranky face and she ignored me completely and I was a foot away from her. Store has nothing in it anyways, it’s a shoe box. BUT even if I did find something I liked, I would have never given that lady a cent. Rude lady.
This is a great little gift shop. They also carry beautiful jewelry from local artisans. Mary and Alice are super helpful and they will wrap your gift beautifully
A charming shop with unique gift items.
I recently visited Simple Pleasures, a cute store that offers a lovely selection of gifts. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the rude behavior of the two women working there. I was looking for a gift for my mother, and instead of receiving helpful assistance, I felt dismissed and unwelcomed. It left a negative impression, which is disappointing given the store's potential. I hope they can improve their customer service, as it really detracts from an otherwise charming shopping experience.
Simple Pleasures has a 4.4 star rating with 47 reviews.
Simple Pleasures is closed now. It will open on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
