Shifting Gears is a fantastic community asset. This is a perfect example of why we should support small businesses! Not only do they have a wide assortment of bikes, bike accessories, and gear, their service is prompt, well priced, and I always can count on the quality of work. Paul is also very involved in the community, offering group rides and trips, coordinating events with the school and participating in local events. Really can't recommend highly enough!
I just got a tune up on my bike after it sat for a year or so unused. Paul is super knowledgeable, and he explained all of the things he'd be doing to put my bike into prime form. He showed me how my chain had stretched a bit and worn down the cassette. We talked through the options I had, repairing things now or pushing them into the future, and there was no pressure to do more than necessary (though I decided to replace them both). I rarely leave reviews, but I just had to. The owner of the shop is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I needed new tires and a new tube on my bike, and I knew absolutely nothing about bike anatomy or how to change tires/tubes. He gave me multiple selections at multiple different prices, and explained thoroughly what each price meant for each tire. He walked me through everything. Such a wonderful family owned shop. Very knowledgeable about general bike info for any additional questions outside of our service requests. My wife's bike was serviced promptly and tediously. My mistake, I brought it on the wrong day of my appt and it was still accommodated. Will definitely be bringing our other bikes here for service. Side note: they do have some accessories to look at as well as bikes! Paul and Laura were pleasant to chat with. Thanks guys!
I'm off to college soon. Needed to fix up my bike to get around. Service was swift and efficient, and he was very welcoming. Would recommend!
