In 2016, our mother hired Sheila to handle her estate planning so that everything would be in order when the time came. Sadly, Sheila failed to file critical documents—most notably the deed upon death transfer—despite having been paid to do so. When we reached out after our mother’s passing, Sheila offered no apology or accountability for the work left incomplete over the past nine years. Sheila came highly recommended by others. She was very efficient, but not very warm or friendly. We only met with her once so far to discuss our needs. We will be meeting with her again to actually process some legal documents for us. Perhaps efficiency is all we need from her, but it would be nice to feel more comfortable with the person handling our end of life planning. Update: our 2nd meeting was a more pleasant experience.
