About this business
History Established in 1961. After the Shakers were gone, the buildings and property passed into private hands. For the next 37 years, the buildings changed hands many times and the furnishings were dispersed. In early 1961, a ground swell of interest in saving these historic structures brought on the formation of an organization to acquire and restore them. That same year, Shakertown at Pleasant Hill, Kentucky, Inc., was formed as a nonprofit, educational corporation.

Had a fabulous morning of birding with my friends from the Central Kentucky Audobon Society. Shaker Village is a lovely place to experience nature.

Trails .. so peaceful.. and relaxing
We stayed here in 2018 and fell in love with this place. Everything from the quaint, simple, very comfortable room we had on the 3rd floor of the trustees House to the farm, and homemade goods. We visited in the fall and the spicy falls leaves, and beautiful sunshine was the best time. We loved the informative presentations and the farm-to-table home cooked food was amazing. We are from Oregon and highly recommend staying here at least 3 days to enjoy all this wonderful place offers.
My favorite place to walk, taking in the peace and quiet. Love the history told by the residents. You are thrown back in time, great opportunity to learn about yesterdays. Enjoy the historical value and architecture. Shop, restaurant and trails on site.
Stayed our 2nd Anniversary and enjoyed calm atmosphere!
I was able to attend a meeting here last week and was very impressed. Everything was in excellent condition and all of the staff were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We ate lunch onsite as well and it was delicious.
Beautiful family and pet friendly place.
