I went to see Shakeh Avanessian originally for relief from knee pain from a past injury that flares up. She not only helped my knee recover, but she also helped me with back pain, foot pain and ptsd issues as they came up. She listens carefully, addresses whatever issue I'm having while making me feel comfortable and at ease (who knew that laying on a table with several needles in you could be so calming and relaxing?) Shakeh has helped me tremendously over the years, from almost completely reducing the debilitating migraines I was experiencing, to more recently completely stopping my hot flashes. She is brilliant, and also a wonderful human being. I had been to few different acupuncturists over the years, due to convenience, but no one else is as effective as Shakeh. I would recommend her to everyone, and do as much as possible.
I used Shakeh for her other specialty, Functional Medicine. I have a chronic skin condition that has gotten worse in recent years. Antihistamines and topical steroids weren’t cutting it, so I decided to try Functional Medicine, which looks at how well your various internal systems are functioning. My experience with Shakeh has always been positive she has worked with me on multiple issues with pain management including severe migraines and sports injuries. The treatment has been successful and provides an alternative to prescribed medication. I highly recommend Shakeh and the all round holistic approach to health care she offers!
Shakeh is tremendous. In addition to her sensitive and thoughtful care and treatments, she spends generous time in the discussion of alternatives and recommends life style changes for a holistic overview to good health. She is always upbeat, flexible and patient and has added joy to my life. Could not recommend higher.
