This post is long over due since I pulled my child out of that school now 2yrs later but I doubt much has changed. We moved to Mesa from Las Vegas and had thought I did a good job reviewing the school. In the beginning everything seemed fine. Teacher was good and taught well. Luckily my family found this top-ranking school when my children were very young. They first started at the preschool which gave them a solid foundation before they began kindergarten. They are very different children, but the superintendent always went out of her way to make sure their individual needs were met. They are now in high school taking honors and higher-level classes thanks to the higher-level math, science, and English classes they took at Self Development. Choosing a school for my child and finding a place to work was an easy decision. After meeting the teachers and staff, I immediately knew this was the best choice for my child and me. I was most impressed with our Superintendent, Dr. Anjum Majeed. She is a hands-on leader. When I see her in the classroom teaching math, she makes sure each student understands the concepts. She also makes sure to interact with each child, making them feel welcome. If you are looking for a school, Self Development is the one.
