Sean Downes is all one can hope for in a therapist and guide. Sean is thoroughly committed to his clients, insightful, and easily trusted. I’ve never felt so quickly comfortable and safe with a therapist. I couldn’t be more fortunate to have found him. Sean’s skills, knowledge, and insights have changed and continue to change my very existence, my world view, and self view in such incredibly positive ways that I didn’t know we’re available to me. Until he showed me. Can’t thank him enough.

I know it can be a cliche to say that a therapist changed your life, but Sean really did. I had never attended therapy prior to scheduling time with Sean, and he helped me process some deeply traumatic events in my life. He does it with an openness and humanity that puts you at ease. He is deeply practiced in his craft, but meets you where you are on your journey. Bend is lucky to have Sean and I'd recommend him to absolutely anyone.

I found Sean to be a black and white thinker, very much into his agenda, irritable, self-centered, and unhelpful. In several sessions he had no encouraging words and did not help me at all with trauma from three family members’ deaths. I’ve had two great counselors in Bend, but going to him added to my trauma. I had an experience like Ashley’s. (See her review.)
