Small local history museum, perfect spot to get out the tourist trap and learn history
As many have noted here, John at the front desk was extremely friendly and a great guide to the intricacies of life in the clan house, which was so beautifully recreated with hand tools inside. Beautiful glass and wood work. We were also extremely lucky to be able to take time with the artist in residence Ursula Hudson. We dropped in with less than an hour left in her residency and she still took the time to speak with us, form a connection, and share her perspective on the modern life of formline art. Friendly John greeted and gave us an intro tour, taking time to answer questions while my family spilt up to read and listen to exhibits inside the museum. The store was full of indigenous art and gifts to support this educational center. Well worth your time to understand the local culture!
Beautiful place with historical and cultural artifacts all around. Clan House intimate room for performances.
Great experience to give more history about the people who have lived here for 12,000 years. Personally, I thought the halibut hook was interesting - clever.
