Being a parent of children that play stringed instruments and not having any background in music myself I felt very overwhelmend. I felt it was neccesary to research the topic. I'm Thankful to Jeff at Scrolls and Strings for educating me to the science of maintaining your violin and bow. Jeff's maintenance work on my violin has provided me with a huge improvement in tone.
I first went to Scrolls & Strings when I bought my violin 3 years ago. I've purchased 2 bows from Jeff, and come back for yearly check-ups and whenever I need any repairs done. Jeff is awesome, he's a very trustworthy person and will help with whatever you need. Though it's an hour drive each way for me to get to Reading, I wouldn't ever go to anyone else. I recommend Scrolls & Strings to every musician I meet, and I've had nothing but great experiences dealing with Jeff and Shelly.
Scrolls and Strings is the BEST place to buy your stringed instrument! They are so helpful, and helped us every single time we went for a minor detail. They are so patient with us even after I took forever to find my perfect violin! Only place to buy your new string instrument and deffinatly the BEST!!!!!!
Jeff and Shelly are the greatest!!! I got my first violin from Jeff when I was in seventh grade and I LOVE it! I always equate selecting a violin to selecting a wand (like in Harry Potter ;] ) and Jeff helped me sooo much through the process of finding just the right instrument for me and for a very reasonable price! Once you shop with Scrolls and Strings, you will never go anywhere else. We, too, we referred by my son's violin teacher, and we could not be happier! They are about an hour from us, but we are customers for life! :)
We were sent to Scrolls and Strings by our son's amazing violin tutor. If I could give them 100 stars, I would. Jeff and Shelly are two of the most amazing, kind, generous, wonderful people I have come across - EVER. We left his shop with the instrument our son wanted, with an amazing bow... and the knowledge that we will be back again and again - even though it is a 2 hour drive from our house. We are so blessed to have done business with them and doubly blessed to have met them.
