I went into this branch to deposit a check, I had all of the documentation needed, it was a bit of a difficult situation but the teller said I would need to speak to a manager about it. I waited in the line, it was taking quite a while so I offered to move aside to allow them to help other customers until a manager was available. Imagine your in the hospital for several weeks and finally diagnosed with a serious health issue. In that time you've booked several phone apts, left phone msg. And get no response, other than next day you get an email stating your apt. was canceled. Today I had another apt. booked, got a call at 10:06 that the person wasn't in. I told them I needed to talk with a representative about my insurance asap and was told I'd get a call in 40 mins. It's now almost 2 hrs since they called. I don’t even want to give 1 star I have been a Scotiabank customer for almost 50 years and in the past 6 months I have been treated like someone with no banking history with this bank Myself and my late husband were told we would have to wait over 6 weeks to meet with the financial advisor (senior) this spring and after booking an appointment with same (senior advisor) this fall to create account for the estate of my husband I was shooed away This branch and this senior advisor and bank manager are the worst
Manager will straight up lie to your face. Then refuse to talk to you when you come back in. Tellers there are great people who work for a terrible manager.
Took shared house off of divorcing parents' hands, needed a mortgage. Parents told Scotia to gift whatever equity is needed to get me approved. Despite this essentially blank cheque, it took them 8 whole months to finalize this mortgage. And then it turns out, 3 years later, that the --Branch Manager-- who went over the details of that mortgage (the parts where they explain what you are signing for on each page) either lied to me or was incompetent in their understanding of the mortgage which they took 8 months to prepare.
