Very disappointing experience at this branch. I visited to apply for a Scotiabank credit card, but the advisor, Anjali Sharma, was not helpful at all. My Northern Quebec address was not showing in the system, and instead of trying to find a solution or asking another colleague for help, I was told that I would need to travel to Montr�al or Qu�bec City to apply. Extremely disappointing experience with Scotiabank today. I went into the branch to deposit a cheque for approximately $3,000. The teller proceeded with the deposit without informing me that the cheque would be placed on hold. Only after the transaction had already been processed did I ask whether there would be a hold, at which point the teller casually said, “Oh yeah, it will be on hold for 5 business days.” I immediately asked them to cancel the transaction so I could take the cheque to another bank. I had a very disappointing experience with this bank’s ATM. I went to withdraw cash and the ATM gave me a $50 bill that was ripped/damaged. I expected the bank’s ATM to provide clean and usable currency. This was very inconvenient, and I believe the bank should make sure the cash loaded into its ATMs is in acceptable condition. I hope the bank takes this issue seriously and improves its ATM cash-handling process.
