I had a very disappointing experience with Advisor Alok Rawal at Scotiabank. I booked an appointment because I had lost my wallet and urgently needed a new debit card to access my salary. Instead of providing support, he was rude and dismissive. One of his first comments was, “Are you Indian?”and also said if you go in Indian bank they will ask for your id too, which was completely irrelevant and offensive. Very Bad Service
This is by far the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. I went in today at 2:30 PM to get a replacement debit card because I lost mine, and the staff—especially the advisor—was completely useless and unprofessional. He told me I had to go all the way to my home branch in Hamilton to get a new card, which was a flat-out lie. I later called customer service, and even they confirmed that the advisor gave me false information. Not only was he wrong, but his attitude was disgusting—rude and dismissive. As people say this is one of the worst branches with rude financial advisors and customer service reps who lie to you about taking care of your banking requests and nothing is done, but Scotiabank overall is a shitty bank to deal with. After 2 tickets they created for the same problem with a money transfer, several complaints over the phone and with their feedback online in their online banking, they did not care to respond back even in more than 2 weeks.
