Had a wonderful experience bringing my elderly father in law here that is a patient at UBC hospital. He is recovering from a stroke and has dementia so struggles to find his words and is wheelchair bound for the first time in his life. He was very nervous to go in his current state. Really appreciated the team going above and beyond for him. They were extremely patient with him and he felt much more confident after the encounter. Thank you Santi & the rest of the team!

In order to avoid helping me, the teller questioned my immigration status and asked me to go home to retrieve my physical passport when I simply asked to open an account. Sure it was near closing time and I understand wanting to leave early. However, racially profiling me and using my POC status against me by doubling down on questioning my citizenship status when I reasonably interrogated such a suspicious document request is unprofessional and unacceptable. Extremely terrible experience. My card is stuck in the ATM that malfunctioned mid-way and the online representative provided minimal assistance by advising me to report lost immediately without providing alternatives. This leads to significant inconveniences caused by the technical error that's literally Scotiabank's incapability of machinery maintenance. Really terrible experience. However, one assistant in this branch was polite, so 2 stars.
