After reading all the reviews I can confirm that this branch is exceptionally bad. Another case of Akshay and company. Completely botched not one but TWO mortgages. Currently paying an open term high mortgage rate praying they'll one day be able to fund the first mortgage refinance so that I can proceed with (against my better judgement) the mortgage switchover from TD. Terrible service do not deal with branch manager Bodgan alama
They advertise and promote a no fee student banking option yet continue to charge the monthly fee on the account, after numerous visits and 2 different managers confirming that it is a student account and them refunding the first two charges, another month rolls around and they charge me the fee again. So not only do they not provide the advertised promotion, but they run a scam to steal students money again and again then make you go complain to get them to fix it again and again. We were served by an advisor Akshay Sreekumar at this location today who, upon inquiry, told us that the bank does not offer any no fee checking accounts. Not only is this false, were it true it would be a violation of the Commitment on Low-Cost and No-Cost Accounts, to which ScotiaBank is a signatory and which came into effect on 1 Dec 2025. Although well-mannered and highly helpful representatives, just to pay off a loan took over 25 minutes. They do not seem to be experienced, which could be because there is not alot of loans being paid off. But the process could be simplified and executed much more efficiently. Again, good people, great staff, but took too long for a simple loan pay off transaction
