Scotiabank is, without question, the most incompetent and frustrating bank I’ve ever dealt with. Every visit is a nightmare. They almost never have more than one teller working, no matter how long the line is — and yes, expect to wait at least an hour every single time. Cannot speak to a financial adviser and make an appointment through 1800 number. I was declined for an appointment! Considering the amount of $$ in have at this bank that is incredible!! Will be moving all my $ to a different bank.
Dropped in to open a bank account for my child, no one available, teller asked if I wanted to make an appointment. I said "sure, what times would be available?" She asked for my ID, so I provided it thinking it's easier than telling her through the plexiglass (covid ended btw) to put my name in the appointment if she found a time. Anyways, she then starts asking about my old information as I'm not a client but was in their system from when I was in High School. Scotiabank has the worst contact system and the 1800 customer care line is useless. I absolutely detest dealing with this bank. I can't wait to move my mortgage amd accts simply due to the lack of client care. Infuriating.
Absolutely useless and terrible customer service. I had my card hacked into and they simply do not care or are too incompetent to do their job. Firstly, after waiting for 2 hours on hold for the fraud line, I was told I need to hang up and call the branch first to report the fraud transaction. When I called the branch, they took me through the same time-consuming security questions, and then transferred me to a different fraud line number which was closed.
